A freshly decorated cottage on Smith's Point beckons you to sit on its deck or in the living room to take in the Harbor view. At dusk, you can watch a fabulous sunset as you will be in the westerly most area of Nantucket. Day and night you can hear the Atlantic surf rolling in just beyond the dunes. Wake up in the morning and while sitting up in bed, you can enjoy the sight of beautiful Madaket Harbor. A stroll over the lawn and across a sandy road leads you to the Harbor beach where you may beachcomb, swim, relax in the sun or walk out to the Point. The Harbor is great for fishing, windsurfing, kayaking and an artist's paradise. Madaket Beach, on the Atlantic, is a five minute walk over a dune path south of the cottage. Going west along the shore is a mecca for stripped bass and bluefish fishing and birding along the protected areas of the nature conservancy. A ten minute walk will take you over a picturesque wooden bridge to the village general store and the shuttle stop to town.
The cottage is delightful. Enter the kitchen/dining/living area, a "great" room by cozy cottage standards. Battened doors, wrought iron hinges and beachy tones are part of its classic Nantucket charm. The twin room has picket fence headboards and flowers peeking in from the window box. You will find the master bedroom has a spectacular view of Madaket Harbor only 50 yards away. The bathroom has a soft, airy look with a cool tile floor, separate shower area and flowery curtains. There is an outdoor shower too. The deck and lawn are just out the back door, with bocce ball, croquet , horseshoes and al fresco dining awaiting your indulgence. |
